THE JOB 
What will you be doing? 

As a Project Engineer at RIBOPRO, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and manufacturing of our state-of-the-art mRNA manufacturing machine. You will be at the forefront of developing, designing and outsourcing the development of parts of the integrated high-tech system of both the microfluidic beating heart of the machine and the machine itself. You will act as product owner, and you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our product development lifecycle.

This machine has the potential to transform the way we produce mRNA-based therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics, offering a faster and more scalable solution to address global health challenges.

We have designed the machine from the ground up, utilizing the most advanced biological processes as the basis for this completely re-imagined way of manufacturing. For the last 1.5 years, our team of engineers and scientists have laid the foundation, and now we need to convert our Proof-of-Concept into a robust, industrialized machine.

Responsibilities 
  • Collaborate within ourinterdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design and develop new modules for the mRNA manufacturing machine.
  • Take ownership of projects from ideation to execution, showing initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing proactive solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define and prioritize product features and requirements
  • Demonstrate a results-oriented mindset, consistently delivering high-impact outcomes independently.
  • Stay updated on newest molecular biology trends and emerging technologies relevant to the project.

What do we expect of you? 

Key requirements 

  • Master/PhD degree inMechanical Engineering or Mechatronical Engineering
    OR 
    Master/PhD degree Engineering and life-science-enthusiast (Molecular Biology, Lab-on-a-chip, Point-of-care, etc). Either coupled with with substantive knowledge of production techniques.
  • 3+, preferably 5+, years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven excellence in clear and articulate communication, paired with the ability to work effectively within collaborative team environments.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, spanning across disciplines from molecular biology to all facets of engineering, 
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, ensuring the seamless execution of tasks and the timely attainment of project goals.
  • A track record of successfully coordinating and executing experiments, including proficiency in analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment is a plus.

  • For most tasks you have experience and you know what is important. You learn quickly and master your new tasks quickly.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, self-starting team player.
