We make automation accessible for life sciences research by performing both high throughput screens on large libraries (over 500,000 compounds, but also smaller (sub-) libraries, e.g. 50k or 200k compounds) and biological profiling on smaller sets of compounds. Our team has more than two decades of history and proven experience as MSD’s former screening centre, as CRO performing above services for big pharma companies, and the past five years as thé screening centre within a large drug discovery initiative, the European Lead Factory.

Services and products

Our uHTS lab hosts a state-of-the-art, fully automated robotic system in an industrial set-up to assist your drug discovery process. This system can efficiently run the major HTS assay technologies (absorbance, luminescence, fluorescence based) in 384- or 1536-well formats and can produce over 300,000 data points per day. Acoustic dispensing technology allows for contact-free, low-volume handling of compound solutions and facilitates on-line cherry picking of active compounds. Our complete infrastructure, including fully automated data analysis software and transparent pipeline, guarantees full exploitation of high quality results.

We offer tailored solutions for cellular or biochemical assay development and optimisation services to generate HTS-ready assay formats. PPSC can help you miniaturize your assays to 96-, 384- or 1536-well formats for Low, Medium or High Throughput Screening including hit validation, hit-to-lead and lead optimisation. We have a broad experience in different target classes ranging from kinases, GPCRs, ion channels to nuclear receptors, proteases and protein-protein interactions. Extensive HTS triaging experience in therapeutic areas like oncology, CNS and immunology is available in-house. PPSC facilitates the unique needs of every drug discovery project with a wide range of assays based on technologies such as: Fluorescent Intensity, Beta-lactamase, absorption based measurement, BRET and many more.

Pivot Park Screening Centre has a high quality compound library available for your drug discovery screening campaigns performed at PPSC. This library consists of over 300,000 drug-like compounds. Subsets of known drugs and reference compounds for a broad range of biological targets are also available for validation studies. Pivot Park Screening Centre has broad experience in screening libraries provided by customers.

Our open access laboratory is designed to provide you with easy-to-use automation infrastructure for all types of in-vitro testing experiments in microtiter plates (assay development, screening, follow-up, hit optimisation, high content analysis and lead optimisation) and technical staff support. With a broad selection of instruments, this lab is an ideal environment for assay and technology development. The open access lab gives you a fast and direct access to laboratory space, equipment and specialised supporting staff without large investments. You can flexibly scale up your experiments and efficiently run your own biology using our automation and expertise.


It is possible to fulfill an internship at Pivot Park Screening Centre on MBO, HBO and University level. The minimum period for an internship is six months. In case you’re interested please e-mail your CV and motivation letter to MLO and HLO students are asked to apply in March or October.
