For the Ardena Business Unit based in Oss, we are looking for a Senior Technician – Solid State Research (FT)

What you will work on

The Solid-State Research group is located on the Pivot Park in Oss and specializes in the optimization of the drug substance physical forms including salts, polymorphs, amorphous forms, and co-crystals. Our services also include pre-formulation activities and crystallization process development.


Your role

As a senior technician, you will play a pivotal role in the Solid-State Research team by assisting with laboratory tasks and by performing laboratory experiments including sample preparations, solid form screens and analytical tests. The analytical tests include powder X-ray diffraction, LC, TGA, DSC, DVS and SEM. You will work in close collaboration with your colleagues within the department to deliver high-quality solutions that align with Ardena’s mission.


Your key responsibilities

  • Under supervision of project managers: selecting and setting up the required lab equipment to perform tests, experiments, and (qualitative and quantitative) analyses.
  • Keeping the laboratory a neat and clean workspace.
  • Regularly inspecting materials and equipment and ordering when needed.
  • Working alongside other chemists and scientists to develop improved production processes and methods.
  • Interpreting test results and assisting with compilation of technical reports.
  • Keeping up-to-date with field advancements and sharing new knowledge with colleagues.


Your profile

  • Soft skills that align with our CARE values- Communicative, Accountable, Reliable, and Excellent.
  • You are fluent (speaking and writing) in the English language.
  • Completed MLO4 / HLO training in chemistry
  • Internship experience in a chemical laboratory, preferably in a pharmaceutical laboratory
  • You enjoy hands-on work and learning many different techniques
  • You are an easy communicator and enjoy working together with others
  • You work in an organized manner and are able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
