As the Associate Director of Account Management, you will fulfill a critical and exciting role to ensure that all collaborations established under the technology out-licensing business model of Synaffix are nurtured well to deliver their full potential. Together with the rest of the Alliance Management Team, this role is expected to maintain and grow existing relationships, negotiate and coordinate contracts, facilitate (new) research, conduct progress monitoring and status reporting.

The full-time annual base pay for this position in The Netherlands is expected to range between 74.250,- EUR and 103.950,- EUR. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.

What you will do:

  • Overseeing the governance of the partnership agreements and managing contractual obligations (including implementing and supporting committees; setting meeting agenda’s and ensure preparedness for meetings; support formulation of and agree on clear objectives; facilitate decision making and subsequent implementation of agreed actions)
  • Tracking and ensuring efficient progress towards agreed goals
  • Strong focus on increasing alignment, mutual understanding, and trust between collaboration participants (including how the company is perceived by the partner, and how the partnership is perceived by people within Synaffix). Cultivate relationships that support cementing the performance of collaborations and managing of associated internal and external communications.
  • Identifying the important value drivers and key risks, ensuring those involved do not lose focus on strategic aspects, leading efforts to mitigate risks and accelerate value creation
  • Anticipating upcoming changes in project stages or collaboration participants, managing transitions smoothly, and serving as the partnership’s memory, as well as facilitating complex discussions with the partner to map a way forward when unanticipated situations or corporate decisions within either party trigger the need for change.


What we are looking for:

  • Master’s degree in the field of Life Sciences or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience (Life Science, CDMO, Biotech, Pharma)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • English Business Fluent
  • Ability to travel to visit clients (globally) and Lonza facilities (mainly within Europe)
  • Strong relationship management and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to navigate complex licensing contracts and technical information.
  • Skilled in structured problem-solving and escalation management.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfort working cross-functionally and internationally.
  • Ability to represent Lonza credibly with senior external stakeholders.
