On 15 May 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Minister of Health, Pia Dijkstra, for a visit. We provided insights into our operations, and subsequently, engaged in discussions regarding strategies for addressing and preventing medicine shortages in the future. It proved to be an inspiring and educational day for all involved. We extend our gratitude to all the companies whose contributions made this visit a success.
We commenced the day by offering an overview of Pivot Park’s activities and its mission as a biopharmaceutical campus. Marcel Broecks from Aspen API also addressed the gathering, sharing insights from his experience and offering perspectives on topics such as solutions for medicine shortages and promoting sustainable healthcare.
To further illuminate Pivot Park and its resident companies, we conducted company visits to Acerta Pharma and the Pivot Park Screening Centre, where visitors gained insights into the operations of both establishments. Additionally, Citryll and TTxD provided an overview of start-up life and their current areas of focus. For Pivot Park a focus area as well because as Pivot Park we believe that by investing in a world-class biopharmaceutical infrastructure and being integral to Europe’s best-connected life sciences and health ecosystem, we can create the perfect conditions to enable start-ups and scale-ups to grow.
The visit concluded with a dialogue between the minister and representatives from lifescience companies, including Ardena, Acerta Pharma/AstraZeneca, Aspen API, BioConnection, Organon, Pivot Park, and Synthon. Discussions centred on essential themes for ensuring sustainable healthcare, such as supply chain security, solutions for medicine shortages, the Dutch business climate, and the innovation capacity of life science companies.
