Automation Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer. The successful candidate will work as a Design Automation Engineer, will play a crucial role within Lifecycle Management (LCM) projects driven by defined life cycle actions. These projects are part of the Business Technology department, which focuses on automation support for our production processes. Based at our production site, the candidate will work alongside with global IT support teams when needed. You will program and upgrade systems within the projects, conducting thorough testing, and assisting in scoping new projects.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating technical system documentation
  • Programming, upgrading and replacing systems
  • Executing and documenting tests on upgraded/replaced systems (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ)
  • Support the Sr. Design Automation Engineer and Project Manager in scoping new projects
  • Recognizing and solving technical challenges
  • Reporting progress and deviations to the project manager
  • In some projects work closely with System Integrator.
  • Work under pressure with minimal guidance and limited documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and the ability to act independently without excessive coordination.
  • You will be working in a multi-disciplinary organization, and you will be a part of a project team consisting of a Project Manager, Computerized Systems Validation Engineer, Design Engineer Automation, Quality Officer and production representatives. As a design engineer automation, you will directly help successfully complete the projects driven by lifecycle management.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or related field to Life Sciences.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Automation and IT projects
  • Excellent skills in PLC, DCS (i.e. Siemens, B&R) and SCADA (iFix)
  • Skilled in commissioning
  • Familiar with Networks, Windows AD, etc.
  • Experience in Life Science / Pharma and GAMP guidelines is a pre.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work under pressure with minimal guidance.
  • Handle and operate efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent English and Dutch is a must
